The 2020 Strategic Plan of the Port of Algeciras Bay Authority focuses on our main aim to “Interrelate with our surroundings and with social policies” as a plan of action: to maintain and promote an improved relationship between APBA and our Port Community as a whole, and with our surrounding area, including the boroughs, institutions and the society in general. We feel that this will improve our public image as it is perceived by locals and generate maximum wealth and a maximum number of jobs that are compatible with the sustainable development of our Port, thus contributing to the general socio-economic welfare.
Port-City Works
One of the main commitments of our corporate social responsibility programme is an appropriate integration of the ports managed by APBA within the boroughs of our region.
APBA has signed port-city agreements with all the councils to lay out our areas of responsibility. These agreements have been put into practice by carrying out many projects on the coastlines of these boroughs to improve access to port zones and enlarge the areas for public use.
Port-Regional Committee
The APBA Port-City Committee was set up in 1998 to extend the support that we give in an unbiased and collective way to various associations and NGOs - whether charity, cultural or sports organizations - working for the public good in the Campo de Gibraltar.
