APBA - the Port of Algeciras Bay Authority – manages the ports of Algeciras Bay and Tarifa.

APBA is a public organization that belongs to the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, with its own legal status and assets, and full capacity to act. It is governed by the consolidated text of the State Ports & Merchant Navy Act , as passed under Royal Legislative Decree 2/2011 (5th September, 2011).

The 2020 Strategic Plan of the ports managed by APBA establishes a mission statement, a strategic vision and values set down for the coming years:

To spearhead the supply of competitive, sustainable port and logistics services that generate added value in close harmony with our customers and to benefit our regional economy and employment rates.

STRATEGIC VISION

To consolidate our port as an intercontinental logistics staging platform and hub port that is an intermodal benchmark in the Mediterranean; spearheading container transit and petroleum products in the Strait of Gibraltar; strengthening our position as the Gateway to Southern Europe for trade with Africa and the Americas; and becoming a centre of excellence in maritime and port services for passengers, ships and cargoes.
